♻️ TerraCycle at West Village Market ♻️

Since 2018, we’ve been working to reduce the waste created by the very products we sell. We work hard to fill our shelves with products in environmentally friendly packaging as we can - you may have noticed that we only offer beverages in glass & aluminum packaging!

And even though we prioritize recyclable packaging, some things just can’t go in your curbside recycling bin! Snack wrappers. Chip bags. Toothpaste tubes. Certain beauty and wellness packaging. It all adds up quickly!

Which is why we run a TerraCycle event every other month - to help responsibly dispose of these hard-to-recycle items, and keep them out of the landfill!

🌍 What Is TerraCycle?

TerraCycle is a recycling company that specializes in materials that most municipal programs won’t accept.

Here’s what happens when you bring your items to our bimonthly event!

We help you sort out everything you've saved & brought to recycle.
We ship everything to TerraCycle’s processing facilities.
They are cleaned, separated, and broken down.
The recycled material is transformed into new products like outdoor furniture, storage containers, and other durable goods.

📅 When do our Terracycle events happen?

March Terracycle Days

Our next Terracycle days will be:
Thursday March 19th from 11-3 and Saturday March 21st from 1-3 on the front porch of the West Village Market. We hope to see you then!

$3 donation for snack packaging is appreciated and helps to cover the cost that we incur in purchasing the snack 'Zero Waste' Box! Thank you!

You don't need to sign up ahead of time to participate!

A $3 donation is requested, which goes to the purchase cost of the box we purchase & send back to them! Terracycle does not require items to be clean, but packages must be empty!

✅ What We Accept

Snack Packaging: Anything you eat directly from the package such as foil bags or plastic bags, granola, snack mixes, potato chips, corn chips.

Coffee Bags and Tin Ties: Coffee bags and tin ties (not kraft paper coffee bags).

Body Care: Deodorant tubes, squeeze bottles of lotions and shampoos.

Snack Bar Wrappers: Protein bars, granola bars, Clif bars.

Squeeze Pouches: Baby food pouches, applesauce pouches.

Tooth Waste: Used toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, outer toothpaste packaging, floss containers.

Single-Use Contact Lense Packaging: Contact lense packaging.

Wellness Pet Packaging: Wellness brand pet food packaging only.

Lundberg Packaging: Lundberg brand rice packaging including rice pouches.

Tec-Pac Lids: Lids from the tops of 4 and 6 pack beverages (not the translucent stretchy ones).

Dipping Cups and Sauce Packets: Dipping cups for sauces and sauce packets.

Produce Ties and Bands: Produce ties and produce bands.

Febreze/Mr. Clean Program: Cleaning bottle sprayers.

Razors and Razor Packaging: Razor blades, razors, and plastic packaging.
